The effect is unbelievable.
It uses nine cards, eight of the cards are identical, say Queen of Diamonds. And the last card is an 'odd' or Wild Card, say Seven of Spades. One at a time the Wild Card, when placed with the QH card, changes them to the "odd" card, the 7S. You are left with nine 7S cards at the end.
